Seminar Description:
A Free TeleClass with Toltec Master, Allan Hardman.
During our childhood domestication, one of the powerful messages most of us received was that it was not okay to feel what we felt. Perhaps we cried “too much,” or were not allowed to use “that tone of voice” with our mothers. Maybe our joy was too much for our parents, and we were told to “take it outside.” We learned that whatever was wrong with us that caused them to ignore, reject, shame, or punish us, it had something to do with expressing our feelings. We learned to stop.
A child cannot stop expressing feelings until he or she learns to stop being aware of them. It is one of the masteries of childhood, to cut ourselves off from the experience of our own feeling truth. We learned to reject our own feelings, and then, in the absence of that very important information, to mock up our lives with our minds.
Our minds learned to stay in the past and future, because there was too much dangerous feeling information in our bodies in the present. We had lost our ability to process and discharge the emotional energy, so it had to be denied. In this TeleClass, I want to share some of my ideas about how we can create a new relationship with our feelings, embrace and use them, and learn to stay in the present. The past and future do not exist. Only this moment exists, and you are only alive, here, now, in this moment.
