Children with these disabilities often have inefficient executive functioning and struggle when their daily routines change significantly.
School days mean getting out of the house early, coming home to do homework and getting everything done in time to get to bed at a reasonable hour. Parents end up nagging, pleading and negotiating with kids to get to the bus on time, finish homework and go to bed. Children argue, whine, and avoid accomplishing these tasks.
